NewJeans’ Hyein reflects on the people who have influenced her life and shares details about her legal dispute with ADOR in an exclusive interview with Dazed Korea.
Hyein, a member of K-pop group NewJeans, recently shared her thoughts on the people around her during an interview with Dazed Korea. In the video titled “Hyein’s First Impression of Minji? From Memories in the Practice Room Before Debut to Her Current Performance on Stage,” Hyein selected nine key memories that shaped her journey before and after debut.
One of the highlights of the video was the focus on the “people” who have influenced her life. Hyein expressed, “I’ve felt a lot recently that when I look back, there were a lot of really cool and good people around me.” She also shared her surprise at the relationship they have with their fans, the Bunnies: “It’s fascinating that even though we can’t see each other often or talk as much as we’d like, they still show us so much support.”
The dispute with ADOR
Meanwhile, boy group NewJeans is currently in the midst of a legal situation with their former agency, ADOR. On November 28, the group held an urgent press conference announcing that their exclusive contract with the agency would be terminated if certain violations were not corrected within 14 days of official notification. Since then, NewJeans has begun an independent stage.
ADOR, however, responded on December 3 by filing a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract. Additionally, on January 13, the agency requested an injunction to prevent NewJeans members from signing advertising contracts independently.

According to ADOR, this action is intended to prevent confusion and harm to advertisers. “The members of NewJeans have attempted to unilaterally contact advertisers, which could cause confusion among third parties and harm to those involved. We have decided to take measures to protect all parties involved,” the agency stated.
ADOR also reaffirmed its commitment to the group, assuring that it will continue to provide resources and support for their activities. The agency noted that it has already planned future activities, including an album release and fan meetings, and hopes to reestablish communication with the members.
Meanwhile, NewJeans continues to attract the attention of fans and the music industry, making their mark with bold decisions and a strong connection with their audience.
